Family Living

A large garden that was intersected by a drive. The clients wanted to make the most of the space, retaining the use of the space for car parking without losing sight of the rest of the garden. By laying Breedan gravel and breaking the edge up with York stone paving and planting the division between hard and soft landscaping blurred. The garden then turns into child play. A brick wall removed is replaced with gentle sloping lawn and subtle york stone steps. The lawn leads into grass paths running underneath the existing fruit trees, a perfect place for young boys to play.

The top of the garden is framed with a pair of half standard Olive trees, under planted with lavender and spring bulbs. Hard landscaping is softened with billowing herbaceous planting.
